  1. Data center land demand approaches 3,000 rai in Thailand’s industrial estates

Data center developers have expressed interest in or reserved nearly 3,000 rai in Thailand’s industrial estates, according to Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand governor Sumet Tangprasert. He said about 60–70 data center projects had submitted applications to regulators.

Sumet estimated that more than 90% of these developers would invest in industrial estates once regulators establish clear electricity pricing and infrastructure standards.

The authority plans to expand its land stock from just over 20,000 rai to 30,000–40,000 rai to accommodate future investment. Across all industries, industrial-estate land sales and leases reached about 6,000 rai in the first nine months of 2026.

The authority is also opening power and utility projects to more private investment under its “New Utilities” strategy.
